Collective Access

Collective Access is an online, open source collective management software for museums and archives.

The Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital Archives and History Committee adopted Collective Access in 2013. While Collective Access can import records from other inventory programs, such as Past Perfect, our inventory was a combination of Microsoft Access and Excel. It was also terribly out of date, as our collection went into temporary storage in 2011.

Starting an inventory from scratch is a daunting project, but it also means creating a system tailored to our unique needs.

You can get a glimpse at our system here

  1. Hi,
Can anyone look at your inventory portal, collective access?
If so, how do you get an account to look thing up? Thanks for your reply.

    • Our inventory portal is closed to the public. You can see some other examples using the links on the “Collective Access” page.
